In 2009, Paul's NBA opportunity was cut short when he was injured during training camp with the UTAH Jazz. Among his resume highlights, he played for the  Minnesota Timberwolves' & Jazz summer league teams, and spent 12 years playing basketball professionally in the world's top leagues, including France, Turkey, the Philippines, and Italy. He also played in the NBA D League (now known as the G League) for the Maine Red Claws and Iowa Energy.

It was during his time overseas that Paul developed an interest in studying wellness and recovery.  Paul enjoys sharing his know-how and life experiences with today's up and coming, most talented players. He made his first collegiate coaching debut at the University of Hartford for the 2022-2023 season and plans to continue coaching with a focus on Player Development.

As a student at Niagara Falls High School, Harris led his team to a New York State Federation title in 2005, and was featured in a 2019 ESPNU documentary about his time there and the next generation of players. Harris was a member of the USA Basketball Youth Development Festival squad that captured the gold medal at the 2005 International Sports Invitational. In the 2006 Nike Hoop Summit he had a team-high seven rebounds and six assists, as well as six points in the 109–91 victory.

Harris lives in West Hartford in his off-seasons with his wife and             children.
